WP hosting can be a slippery slope.  In fact, some of the so-called WordPress hosts out there can be really difficult to work with.  They say they offer WP hosting in their packages, but how much do they really stand by the product when it comes to customer service?  I know from experience how much of a problem this can be when it comes to resolving hosting problems with a WordPress website.

Now, I’m not one to boast too freely about a product, but this time I just have to have my say. I was in the process of doing a simple update to my site when wham-mo. Down it went with a 500 Server Error. That meant that I had no access to my website or any of the backend WordPress area. Yikes. I did have access to my control panel so I knew that the hosting was still working.

I quickly contacted the support department at HostGator. Not only did I get a prompt reply, but within 15 minutes, a technician had found the error (it was a small syntax error) and had fixed it for me. No questions, no sly remarks. Just great, and I mean great service.
